Basic Home Remedies For Acne
Posted on December 3rd, 2009
More and more acne treatments are being developed nowadays, and a quick trip to the drugstore will show you that there are many over the counter treatments available for you to choose from. From ointments to creams, people buy these medications because they want to see instant results.
However, acne problems do not go away overnight. The best way to keep your skin acne-free is still to take good care of your skin, so that it remains clear and healthy. Most medications are also overly-priced, and some of them can give you skin allergies which can even worsen your condition; these are some of the reasons why people are now choosing home remedies for acne over medications.
So what are effective home remedies for acne? The nice thing about home remedies for acne is that most, if not all, of them are natural, so you will not become allergic to them, and they are not harmful to your health, even if you take too much. Taking good care of your skin starts at home, so these simple reminders will hopefully give you a fresh and healthy-looking skin:
First, take one-third cup of oats and blend them until they become powder. Ass one-third cup of water, mix until it becomes paste-like. Put it on your face and leave on until it becomes dry and it slowly starts to come off. Wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Buy one cucumber, and then put it in a juicer. Apply the cucumber juice to your face, concentrating on the areas with acne. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes, and then wash it off. For best results, do this daily.
Yogurt is good for the face; make sure you buy the unsweetened one. You can add oats, bananas and strawberries to it, mash them, and apply to your face for about fifteen minutes. This will clear your skin of acne and give it a healthy glow.
Nutmeg is also great for the skin. If you want to get rid of those scars left by acne, use one teaspoon of powdered nutmeg, mix in one teaspoon of honey and apply it to the areas on your face that have scars. Leave it on for twenty minutes.
Always remember that with all these home remedies for acne, you should wash your face thoroughly after, so that there is no residue. Also, never forget to use lukewarm water, as hot or cold water can break the capillaries in your face. Keep trying new acne remedies until you find the one that works best for you.
